Army Men

I got a big box of old stuff back from my dad lately and found these inside the box. I used to set them up and shoot rubberbands at them to knock them down. I wish I were so easily amused today.

I wish I had a better reason why I haven’t posted a picture in a while but this is what has been sucking away my time.
I promise this will change soon.

My living room. Two Ikea Kaxas units for the tv, a toto cube lamp and a case study couch.

Took a few quick shots to create a landscape and this was what I came up with. It’s amazing how easy it is to create these things with software. I just wish it was just as easy to control the light across multiple frames pointing in different directions.

This mule belonged to the owner of Rosebud Ruby Star B&B where we stayed at while in Joshua Tree. I’m not sure if this was Tinhead or Rosebud but for the two days that we were there, I don’t think he/she moved from that spot.

I figured since I showed the big picture in the last post, I would go to the opposite extreme and show some small detail.
I wasn’t sure if this ladybug was hanging out on this prickly plant or it got stuck there.

I was gone more than I was around last week. First in Dallas for work and then in Joshua Tree for a quick weekend getaway.
I’ve never been to Joshua Tree before and the landscape is amazing. I’ve never been very interested in nature photography but the scenery at Joshua Tree gave me a new perspective on that.
So much of the scenery out there is so amazing that it looks fake. It quite often felt like I was on a movie set with this huge backdrop and if I walked back a hundred feet, I would hit the back of the stage.
Here’s one of many pictures that I took over the weekend. More to be posted in the coming weeks.
