Amazing Voice Recognition
I called Banana Republic last night to change my address since I moved. I tried doing it online but I had to call it in.
Instead of being met with a person, they had me go through a computer prompt.
I normally hate using those voice recognition systems because they are never accurate and it takes multiple tries to get anything done.
However, this system was amazing, I gave it my zip code, my street address, and it got everything on the first try. That’s quite a feat considering the street I live on isn’t a common word. Most humans I talk to I have to spell it out for them.
I’m still amazed at the system.
Google Reader
Google came out with a newer version of their newsreader this past week and I’ve basically made the complete switch over to it from bloglines.
I’ve been using my laptop as my main computer for the past 2 weeks now and I’m even more dependent on keyboard shortcuts than I was before and google reader just has better keyboard shortcuts.
I also find that it’s easier to skim through the feeds which means it takes me less time to go through all my feeds lately. I don’t get caught up on the junk as much as I did with bloglines.
