Weekly Update

Ran 3 times this week, 3.75 miles each run for a total of 11.25 miles. My pace has picked up it seems like, I’ve been running faster but my average heart rate has stayed about the same if not lower.
I’ve been averaging over 10 miles a week for this month, slowing increasing my daily runs.
I’m still increasing my distance although at a much slower pace, I don’t have any particular goals, just enjoying the process of becoming a runner and the feeling of improvement.

Almost a week off

Took almost a week off because I was busy and it was raining. I think the rest was good for me though. Went out this morning and did 3.19 miles in 34:46. It felt good, faster pace than normal and heart rate stayed where it should have.

Morning Run

Woke up early this morning and couldn’t go back to sleep so I went running. 3.68 miles in 29:43. My fastest pace yet for roughly equivalent distance. Heart rate was lower than the last time I ran at this pace. 174 vs 178 last time. I always seem to have good runs when I take Claritin for my allergies. Last time I felt this strong, I took some on the same day, this time, I took some last night and it lasts about 24 hours. I don’t know if it’s coincidence or ?.
I’ve been running more than I’ve been posting here, I did 12 miles last week, I’m almost at 10 already this week. I’ll probably do another 3 this week for a total of 13. I’ve been keeping a log elsewhere, I posted a link at the top of the page.

Almost 4 miles

I’m giving up on the low HR training for now. I can barely run to keep my HR that low, I end up walking most of the time.
I started running again today, went 3.91 miles today in 45:33. The run felt really easy, didn’t feel tired at all, felt like I could have kept going forever.

3 miles!

Ran 3.08 miles in 34:12 on Saturday with a friend. Did the run faster than I was used to and boy was I pooped! Average HR was 178.
I did 3.18 miles tonight in 43:13. Really slow pace, I was trying to keep my HR down. Ending up averaging 158. I barely felt like I got any exercise tonight after my run. I think I’m going to have to build up my mileage a little bit more before I start to run at such a slow pace.
