It seems like it takes forever for me to get into my stride. Ran 2.75 miles today, didn’t feel like I started getting into my stride until about 1.5 miles into it. After that, I felt like I could run forever, everything was working together and it felt really good.
Slow pace today, I was taking it easy to make sure I didn’t burn out at the end. Total time, 31:57.

Got the Nike Triax C8 watch today. Went for a run right after work, same 2.48 mile route in 28 flat. Felt better this time compared to my previous runs. Not a fantastic pace but I could have gone faster and I felt good after. The runs are getting easier. Average HR according to the new watch, 174.

I burnt out towards the end of my run today. I think it’s because I ran too close to lunch, I was starving towards the end of my run. I did the 2.48 mile route again in 28:05. Legs were feeling really tired for the first mile or so and then my legs got their stride, unfortunately, in the last quarter mile or so, I just crashed and had to walk for about 30 seconds.

It’s been a while since I’ve done a morning run but I made myself go to bed early last night so I could do this. I did a different 2.46 mile route today in 27:35. Faster than my last run even though I was trying to keep my heart rate down and it felt like I was running really slowly. I did burn out in the last quarter mile maybe, my heart rate just shot up all of a sudden and I just had to walk. I’m not quite sure what happened.

About 30 yards from the end of my 2.48 mile run, I felt a drop of water on my hand. My first thought, “Jeez, I can’t be sweating this much.” Then another drop and I realized that the water wasn’t coming from me but the sky. I would love to say that it started pouring down rain after but it was more like a barely discernable trickle of rain that lasted all of 5 minutes maybe?
I did the run in 29:42, not a great time but good considering how I felt. My lungs just wouldn’t open up through out the whole run and it felt like my nose was stuffed up the whole time. I blame it on the changing of the seasons and my allergies being awakened.

Ran 1.94 miles in 20:48. The run felt really easy today, wasn’t gasping for breath, my lungs were open and I was running at a decent pace. Some days, it’s so easy and other days, it’s so hard. I was even running around most of the day helping setup at the new office so it wasn’t like I was really well rested.

I got the new ipod nano as a really early birthday gift from the wonderful girlfriend. I think she got sick of hearing me whining about wanting it. I’ve stopped myself from early adopting gadgets and it’s been a while since I’ve really wanted something but I really wanted this because it fit all the criteria. Small and flash based. I need to get an arm band for it or something. It’s so small and sleek that I almost dropped it after my run when I pulled it out of my pocket to turn it off.
Ran the 1.94 mile route in 22:08. I think I started off too fast today and didn’t let myself warm up. The run only felt okay, I’ve been feeling really tired this week, I think the residual effect from my weekend in vegas.

Ran about 2.42 miles tonight in about 29:02. About .6 miles into the run, the running just became easy.
My legs felt like they were floating, just chugging along, my breathing was at a steady cadence, I felt like I could go on forever.
My heart rate was still up there, averaging about 174, but it still felt easy. I wasn’t breaking any records on speed but I felt like I could have gone faster if I wanted to.
The amazing thing was that the rest of the run felt easy as well, easy enough that I sprinted up the little hill on my street. I wanted to get my heart rate up to see what it would max at. It’s hard to tell with the HRM I have especially in the dark while running but I saw it at 193 when I slowed down a little to take a look.
Sounds about right on what all the calculators have me pegged at. I’ll have to read up more on calculating maximum heart rates.

Just got back from a weekend in Vegas and immediately went for a run. Did the 1.94 miles route but I was slow today, it took me 23:40. I guess it’s not bad considering I only got 4 and a half hours of sleep last night and not much sleep at all the whole weekend.
I did notice that my heart rate was lower throughout this run, closer to 174 rather than the 180 I’ve been running at. I guess that would correlate to the slower time as well.
It felt really good to go for a run though after a weekend like this.

Same the 1.94 miles route again. Time, 21:38, about 1 1/2 minutes faster than before. Ran the whole way this time, didn’t stop to walk. Looking at my heart rate monitor, it looks like my heart likes to stay below 180, anything higher and I start gasping for air fast. 180 still seems kinda high, I’ll have to run a hill to see what my true max heart rate is.
